WILLIAMSON,
NY….The new season finale event at Spencer Speedway,
Friday, September 10, is taking on new meaning. Not only
will the season champions be decided at Spencer Speedway,
but the inaugural NASCAR Upstate New York Pro-Modified
Series presented by Hoosier Tires of WNY and Sunoco Race
Fuels champion will be crowned and now two Race of
Champions qualifiers are on the line. The Sunoco Modifieds
are scheduled to run Twin 25-lap feature races. The first
of these Twins will be the final point event for the
NASCAR Upstate New York Pro-Modified Series presented by
Hoosier Tires of WNY and Sunoco Race Fuels. The second 25
lapper has now been tagged as a Race of Champions
Qualifier. Only six guaranteed qualifiers will be named
going into the RoC Sportsman 100 on September 24 at Oswego
Speedway. Currently Andy Jankowiak (WCIS), Jim Zacharias (Chemung)
and Sege Fidanza (last year’s winner) hold guaranteed
status. Qualifiers remain at Shangri La II, Spencer and
Dunn Tire Raceway. Both Twin-25 lappers carry Spencer and
NASCAR Track Points to determine the 2010 Sunoco Modified
Champion at Spencer. Currently Kevin Timmerman holds a 90
point lead over Chris Finocchario. Ryan Beeman sits a
distant third.
The final
race at Spencer will also offer a RoC Street Stock
guaranteed spot. Only five guaranteed starting spots for
Friday, September 24, 25-lap Race of Champions Street
Stock feature at Oswego Speedway will be named. Currently
last year’s RoC winner, Tim Garlock and John Hewson Jr.
(WCIS) have been named. Street Stock qualifiers remain at
Shangri La II, Mahoning Valley and Spencer. The Street
Stock point race at Spencer has been close all year long.
Currently Mitchell Wright holds a 27 point lead over last
year’s track champion Kris Hillegeer. Also on tap on
September 10 will be the final point races in both the
Super Sixes and the Auto Value 4-Cylinder Scorpion

features this year has over come missing a week, when he
loaned his car to Kevin DeVuyst, who also took the car to
victory, is leading the Super Six points. Patti Davenport
sits in second and amazingly a rookie, Brian Hallett, sits
third in points. The Auto Value Scorpions has been a “Bradshaw
Battle” all year long. The Bradshaw family, which fields
four family cars, plus two additional cars, has been at
the thick of things all year. Currently Bro Bradshaw holds
a slim point lead over Otis Bradshaw. Kevin Bertolone
breaks up the Bradshaw clan’s hold on all of the top
spots, sitting in third, while Mike Bradshaw is in fourth
in points.

TIMMERMAN
RETURNS TO THE SUNOCO MODIFIED VICTORY LANE… POWERS
TAKES HIS THIRD SUPER SIX WIN IN A ROW
WILLIAMSON, NY…With just two weeks remaining in the 2010
NASCAR Oval Track season at Spencer Speedway, point leader
Kevin Timmerman dominated the field, winning by nearly 20
car lengths in the 35-lap NASCAR Sunoco Modified feature
run. “The guys ran me clean tonight,” stated an elated
Timmerman in victory lane. “They gave me a lane and I
took it.” When asked what his key to success has been
recently, he stated, “You just need some patience at
this place. It pays off in the end.” The NASCAR Super
Six division was highlighted during the evening, even
using the infield pit area. As for the racing it was all
Skip Powers, as he won his third Super Six feature in a
row and his seventh this season. When he was asked about
what he thought made the difference, he responded, “It’s
all the guys on this team. They work so hard. We had to
deal with a 30 pound penalty after winning last week. They
figured it out and here we are again.” The 15-lap NASCAR
Auto Value Scorpion feature looked to be all Dale Lazzaro.
A late race caution found Lazzaro denied his win after
missing a shift on the restart and fall off the pace. The
win went to Otis Bradshaw, his second win of the season.
“The car started having the front end wash out. So we
had to work getting the back end around to make it steer
right,” stated Otis in victory lane. The 20-lap NASCAR
Street Stock main was won by Kris Hillegeer .....
