2010 SPENCER SPEEDWAY 
AUTO VALUE FOUR CYLINDER RULES

Welcome to Spencer Speedway’s newest division. It is designed with the intent to allowing rookie drivers the opportunity to enjoy the Short Track racing experience. This class is open to anyone 14 years old or older. Minors MUST have a signed parent release form. Drivers competing in this division will not be eligible to race in any other division at Spencer Speedway!! Anyone who has run or is running in a premier class (Modified, SST, Weekly modified, Super modified ect..) is not eligible to run in this class

Completely stock vehicles, prepared with safety guidelines, to help teach driver control. Over competitive drivers and vehicles will be subject to rule amendments to help equalize the competition. This will be fun class with the thrill of competition.

 

After 3 years of being champion in this class you must move up to the next class.

 

Body and Chassis:

1. A maximum wheel base of 103" excluding mid-size vehicles such as Camaro, Firebirds, Thunderbirds, Vans, SUVs, or trucks, ETC...........

2. Unaltered, stock body, and frame dimensions must remain as OEM.

3.Pre-register a number 0-999. Numbers must be on both doors, and roof at least 3" thick and 18" tall. Numbers must be in a contrasting color. Additional numbers should be painted on right front and rear of vehicle for easy recognition by officials. Body and paint must be kept in a presentable condition. NO inappropriate print or logos allowed!

4. Remove all glass (except windshield, if desired may be replaced with polycarbonate, lexan).

5. Remove all burnable and sharp objects withing interior.

6. Dash and steering column must remain in stock location for make and model being used. A quick release steering wheel hub may be used. Factory ignition lock pin must be removed from column.

7. Factory OEM brake pedal and components only . Must be in factory location. All brakes must be inspectible and in working condition . All 4 breaks must work. No adjusting devices.

8. All doors must be welded shut.

9. Lift chain on front and rear bumpers are mandatory.

10.Chassis components must remain stock. Mounting locations MUST NOT be altered except designated amount of camber adjustment on the right front only. This will be the tech officials discretion.

11. Maximum Camber will be 11degrees. This means tilt of tire.

 

 

 

BRACING:

1. 4-point roll cage surrounding the driver with a minimum of 3 driver side bars.

2. Each roll bar must have 2 braces running rearward from the top of the roll cage at approximately 45 degree angle welded to the frame or cross brace.

3.An Adequate brace must run from door jam to door jam at approximately 15 inches from the floor .

4. All main cage roll bars must be a minimum of 1 3/4 O.D. ERW or DOM, .090 minimum wall thickness. All roll bars must be welded to the frame unless uni-body construction. If a uni-body car is being used you MUST have a 6" square foot plate welded and bolted to the floor, or a full length rocker sub-frame support welded securely across the top of the rocker panel, extending from front to rear fo the door openings.

5. All weld joints must have gusset minimum 1/8" thick steel.

6. All cars must have steel plate minimum 5/16" thickness by 12" wide starting 12" before and continuing 18" behind driver’s door and firmly secured to body. If a full roll cage with interior bars on driver side, outside plate is not required.

7. Adequate padding in the driver’s compartment required.

8. Equivalent or greater bracing may be used subject to the approval of Spencer Speedway.

9. One exterior rub rail may be used on each door. It must be mounted tightly to the body.

 

 

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION:

1. STOCK, STOCK!!! No performance or racing accessories! If a component from the engine fails it WILL be replaced by another USED component purchased from a junkyard. No reconditioning of any core engine components...heads, block, internals etc.........

2. Bolt on accessories such as water pumps, alternators, and power steering pumps, etc.. may be OEM replacement parts.

3. Factory OEM carburetor/ fuel injection system will be unaltered for make and model being used. The holley 4412 unaltered may be used as a replacement carburetor for the Autolite or motorcraft Ford type carburetor. Choke may be removed and you may use any jets.

4. No performance enhancing or after market computer chips will be allowed.

5. OEM factory ignition and 13.5 volt batteries only. Needs to be located in a safe and secure manner.

6. Factory OEM exhaust manifold and intake manifold will be unaltered.

 

7. Converter and mufflers may be removed and replaced with a straight pipe (maximum 2"). Exhaust is to be routed to the outside of car behind the driver.

8. Stock unaltered transmission / trans-Axel. Stock clutch assembly only.

9. No limited production performance parts allowed. If questionable call Tech Inspector.

 

 

WEIGHT:

1. A minimum weight, after race with driver with no fluids added, will be in relationship to cubic displacement, number of cams, and number of valves. 1 lb. Per cubic centimeter displacement with driver..add 100 lbs. For valves in excess of 2 per cylinder..add 100 lbs fir dual overhead cam (DOHC).

2. Maximum 54% between left and right side weight, weighted without driver. Car weight must be posted on left side of hood.

3. Competition Weight Equalizer: After 2 consecutive feature wins 50 lbs. Must be added to the exciting current legal weight. Every consecutive win after you must add another 25 lbs. To your legal weight.

 

 

TIRES AND WHEELS:

1. No offset wheels side to side. No staggered tire side to side.

2. No widening factory wheels. Maximum 5"measured inside bead. Factory production vehicles with wider rim width will be allowed only at the Tech Inspectors discretion.

3. DOT radial tires only. Minimum tread wear 300. No performance or recap tires (tech inspectors discretion).

4. Maximum width....60 series tires.

5. No tire shaving or cutting.

 

 

FUEL TANK:

1. Factory fuel tanks secured in front of the rear Axel may remain in stock location or be replaced with approved smaller fuel cell.

2. Factory fuel tanks located behind rear Axel must be replaced with approved fuel cell and safely secured within the tank area.

 

 

DRIVER AND SAFETY:

1. Fire extinguisher must be mounted within reach of the driver and track crew.

2. All teams must have and maintain a one-way radio/ scanner for direct

Communication with the Spencer Speedway tower. This has helped with positioning and safety. Track radio-154.600.

3. Approved helmet, fire suit, gloves, safety harness and window net are required. See general rules for additional track safety rules.

WHILE THE ABOVE RULES OFFER A GOOD OUTLINE, NOT EVERYTHING CAN BE COVERED BY A WRITTEN RULE. IF YOU WANT TO RUN ANYTHING NOT COVERED ASK JOHN WHITE OR CHUCK DERIDDER FIRST BEFORE DOING SO. IF YOU DON’T AND ANYTHING IS FOUND IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE RULED ILLEGAL. ANY ITEM FOUND ILLEGAL WILL BE CONFISCATED!!!!
